CALL FOR PAPERS

3rd Turkish Congress of Aesthetics is scheduled to be held on 23rd – 25th of May 2019, at METU Culture and Convention Center in Ankara, Turkey. The congress is organized by SANART Association of Aesthetics and Visual Culture, in cooperation with Ankara University Department of Philosophy, Middle East Technical University Departments of Philosophy, Architecture, Music and Fine Arts. We warmly welcome scholars and artists submit proposals for paper presentations, panels, and workshops, and share valuable experiences with scholars and students working in different fields of aesthetics.

SANART Turkish Congresses of Aesthetics aim to bring together scholars from Turkey and other countries, strengthen relationships and establish a strong network among them, create a lively and productive environment to discuss contemporary ideas in the field, and thus contribute to the development of the discipline.

You are invited to submit abstracts of maximum 500 words to the 3rd Turkish Congress of Aesthetics by clicking on the “Registration” tab above. The language of the Congress is Turkish and English.  The proposed session titles are listed below, but the content of the congress will not be limited to these topics. Applications from all areas of aesthetics will be evaluated.

Registration Fees:

Registration Fee for Delegates from Turkey: 400 TL

SANART Members: 200 TL

Student Fee: 100 TL / 50 Euros

  • Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
  • Abstracts should be in .doc or .docx format. They should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt. The title should be bold and uppercase.
  • Abstracts should be prepared for blind review. The text shouldn’t include any indication of the identity of the author.
  • In order to apply for the Congress with your paper, please click on the link below, fill in the form and upload your paper to the system.


We accept panel proposals for the 3rd Turkish Congress of Aesthetics. Panel submissions need to meet with the same high standards as papers. Panels will be 80 minutes in length: 20 minutes for each presentation and 20 minutes for the discussion. Panel conveyor will arrange the them of the panel and participants. 500 words abstracts of each presenter will be sent to the comittee by the conveyor along with a 500 words of panel proposal.

We accept workshop proposals for the 3rd Turkish Congress of Aesthetics. The organization committee will arrange the equipment and space needed for the workshops. We will get in contact withg you if there will be any problem about the equipments and the space. You can click on the link below to submit a workshop proposal.W

Papers are invited from postgraduate students for special sessions for postgraduate papers at the conference. These sessions will include a discussant who will give feedback for each paper presented The sessions will also be promoted and be scheduled in the congress program such that they will attract a maximum number of attendees. The aim is to help post-graduate students to benefit from the Congress as much as possible by giving high-quality feedback to the papers.
